Frequently Asked Questions About Our Shepherds Hut

What’s provided with the shepherd hut stay?

Everything about how we came up with stay balanced was based on sustainability, the environment and our lovely planet right from our sustainable and ethically sourced bedding and towels, through to the everyday essentials you’ll need while you are with us all the products supplied are sustainable in nature from their packaging to the products themselves, including everything from washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets to cleaning products. We’ll even throw in some sustainable and environmentally friendly shower and bath products.

So long as our Hens are in the mood and laying there will be some fresh eggs for your arrival and as we are all things sustainable a selection of plant-based milk alternatives.

What time can we arrive at the shepherd hut?

We want you to come and start experiencing Stay Balanced as soon as possible on the day of your arrival, we also want to make sure things are just right, check in will be from 3pm and check out at 12pm on the day of departure so we can do the same for those coming to enjoy stay balanced after you.

What time do we have to leave the shepherds hut?

All good things must come to an end and whilst we hope you had a great stay with us. We want to make sure everything is ready for our next guests, but equally we want you to have a relaxed morning on the day that you leave, so you can stay with us until 12pm, enough time for a spot of brunch and a last glimpse of the Alpacas.

Can we use the hot tub on the morning of check out?

We will start to get the hot tub ready for our next guests and need enough time to make sure it’s clean and ready to go. We’ll start to empty the hot tub from 1030am.

What safety precautions are in place for pets near hot tubs?

Our hot tubs have an insulated lid. We ask you to keep the hot tub covered when not in use, this makes sure it stays nice and toasty for when you are ready to use and also no eager swimmers end up in there. Even if your pet can out length Adam Peaty, they are not allowed in the Hot Tubs

Are there nearby walking trails or outdoor spaces for pets?

All of our accommodation has enclosed garden spaces for your pet to enjoy. There are also local walks on the doorstep and some a few minutes drive away. We make some recommendations in our welcome book for you and your companion to enjoy

Can pets stay in all areas of the accommodation or are there designated spaces?

Pets are free to enjoy the accomodation with you, please do not let them practice doggy paddle in the hot tubs and we ask you to cover the furniture with your own throws to prevent muddy paws. For all our guests comfort pets should sleep in their own beds and not on yours. This helps us make sure we can keep our nightly rates low for everyone to enjoy.

Is the hot tub private or shared with other guests?

They are not shared. All our accommodation have private Hot Tubs

I have a question, how can I get in touch?

If you have something you would like to know about your time with us, a recommendation on where to eat or something to do drop us a text or give us a call on 07973 290121

What are the booking and cancellation policies?

On booking your stay we give you the option to take out protection insurance to protect you from having to cancel the booking, this is of course optional. Without the protection in place to secure your booking we take 25% upfront and the remainder 30 days before arrival.

Are linens and towels provided, or should I bring my own?

All our towels and bedding are sustainably sourced and eco friendly, the bedding is unbleached linen (linen is far more sustainable than cotton) which helps us with our eco footprint.

We’ll provide you with towels for the hot tub also and a gown for your stay.

Just don’t forget your toothbrush

What should I pack for a shepherd hut stay in Wales?

We provide lots of goodies for your stay, like plant based and sustainable shower gels, shampoo and conditioners, towels and dressing gowns, along with some little surprises as part of the welcome pack.

Remember to bring some walking boots if you fancy taking in some walks

And something waterproof where in the UK after all

Are there any local shops or restaurants within walking distance?

There are a couple of local village pubs close by, one walkable and one that little bit further 4-5 minutes in the car.

There’s also plenty suggestions in the welcome book to give you some inspiration for your stay when it comes to eating out.

We’re also only a short car ride away from some supermarkets to pick up all the essential supplies.

Is the shepherd hut equipped with a kitchen for self-catering?

The Blondin Cush is equipped with a small kitchenette providing all the amenities you’ll need to rustle up something scrumptious while you’re her.

If you fancy dining alfresco and getting a little creative then the BBQ area is also equipped to rustle up anything from Breakfast to dinner. All you’ll need to bring are the ingredients.

What is the best time of year to stay in The Blondin Cush shepherd hut in Wales?

We are an all year round retreat.

We even get full booked over December for those festive breaks. Our wood burning hot tubs are great for being able to control the temperature better than an electric version, where you can choose to have a cooler tub in the hot summers and a toasty one in the frosty evenings under the stars.

With a cosy wood burning stove in the hut you’ll be sure to be kept warm on those chilly winter nights
